As wedding planners we get so excited when a couple comes to us with an adventurous attitude. There are so many secret spots throughout Ireland that can serve as an insanely epic location for your wedding or elopement, but it often takes some effort on part of the couple and us, a bit of faith, and bravery. Such is the case with Fatimae and Jeff. They came to us wanting to elope, wanting a deeply spiritual traditional ceremony centered more on the Celtic traditions, and most importantly, they wanted an incredible location that was both important historically but also spiritually. The Burren was soon decided on. A deeply spiritual, awe inspiring space, The Burren has long been a residence of Celtic history and tradition, dating back well into the Bronze Age. Located in a national park in County Clare (the west and central part of Ireland), the topography of The Burren is varied from acres of ancient limestone dotted with wildflowers west to the cliffs and the crashing waves of the blue sea. They chose to hold their ceremony in the middle of the national park; a little daunting to get to the ceremony location but the payoff was immense as you can see from the video.
Fatimae and Jeff chose to elope to Ireland with their two small children then surprise their friends and family when they got home. They announced their marriage at a party by playing this video for everyone, who by the end were all in tears. It’s so romantic, so epic, so brave and beautiful and touching, and spiritual, and everything that is good about a wedding ceremony. We are so impressed with the resilience of the kids, and with Fatimae for navigating through the rocks to get to the ceremony location! Everything about this wedding is just so perfect: her dress, the flowers, the location, the weather, the words Dara (the celebrant) spoke….everything came together for literally the perfect elopement..
Without further adieu, Waterlily Weddings is so proud to present this absolutely stunning elopement of Fatimae and Jeff in The Burren. The incredible footage was captured by the uber talented Dreamcatcher Productions. Please enjoy. And don’t forget the tissues…you will need them.
