Earlier this year Waterlily Weddings had the express pleasure of coordinating a style shoot at one of our favorite venues, Killruddery House & Gardens in Bray, Co. Wicklow. The conservatory room served as the main location, its natural light pouring through the glass domed ceiling and walls highlighting effortlessly the classically romantic tone of the shoot. Peaches and pale pinks danced in the floral arrangements and details while natural greenery from dark emerald to silvery sage served as the the inspiration of the “Emerald Isle.” Killruddery is an easy venue — it’s so easily romantic and obviously beautiful that it really does not take much to work with it, allowing the designer or stylist to focus on color tone and texture of other details to express the theme of the wedding day. It’s vintage without being a lesson in history, modern enough to hold a more monochromatic scheme but the power in Killruddery truly lies moreso in the classic feminine form, echoed visually in the many statues that decorate the property.
The glorious floral details were expertly prepared by The French Touch. The arrangements and bouquet sit very light and airy, matching the space of the conservatory perfectly. The balance of color is exquisite, punctuating with a heavier hand in darker green and a brighter orange tone but overall keeping a very delicate undertone of paler shades of pinks and peach. In particular the use of eucalyptus adds a wonderful fragrance and romantic ivy in restrained focused form adds movement.
Congratulations on a fantastic shoot everyone! Well done! For more information on Killruddery House and a peek at some real weddings we’ve had the pleasure to produce, check out our BLOG and PORTFOLIO sections.
