Style Shoot | “Pretty In Spring Pink”: Garden Inspired Intimate Wedding

Spring is in the air and so is planning in full force! This week we are so excited to share with you a gorgeous spring garden-garden style shoot! We took heavy inspiration from a classic spring garden — lots of pink tones, softer greens, and cornflower blue that is the perfect shade of a sunny spring sky. Our theme for the color palette is “modern feminine” and our vibe is elegant Irish garden party. A feature design in this shoot is the balloon arch photo op. Because of covid, we couldn’t pull off a traditional style shoot in Ireland this time, so we brought a bit of Ireland to the USA. Maryland, with its cobble stones, marina, and pastures is a doppelganger for the pastoral Irish countryside and was a perfect site for our shoot. With beautiful fresh flowers, a modern-formal place setting, vintage details and a breathtaking backdrop, this shoot is perfect for your intimate wedding in Ireland, a rehearsal dinner, or bridal shower. Our color palette was inspired by a modern version of a traditional wedding color palette: pink, white, green, gold. We worked in a variety of pink tones ranging from soft and classic blush pink to the new-neutral rose quartz, and added pops of more modern tones like neutral dusty rose and colorful peacock pink. The range worked just perfectly against the natural green setting of the pastoral meadow. To modernize the color palette but still keep the classic tones, we added pops of cornflower blue. Not only was it seasonally appropriate, it drew in details from the Chesapeake Bay and Irish sea! To elevate the design, we went with gold. A modern-formal place setting with vintage style gold cutlery, traditional gold charger plates, and scalloped china helped create a more formal vibe while keeping the tables bare with a simple draped runner created the perfect casual-elegant look. Mix-matched vintage glassware added both color and texture to the table. Custom menus and linen napkins polished the look effortlessly.

We were excited to play with a balloon arch for this shoot. Although a traditional floral arch can be a gorgeous addition to any wedding or party, we wanted to create something a bit more unexpected and something that could stand out easily against the pastoral setting in the garden and trees. A natural arbor in neutral gold-toned pine stood against the greens in the meadow just perfectly. And a collection of balloons in our pink tones from our color palette instantly added color and a touch of whimsical fun to the space. To drive the theme home, a rattan chair in modern peacock pink is both on trend and functional. It’s the perfect little photo op for your guests to enjoy. We found working with the balloons actually was quite fun and has a lot of advantages: you can really express your color palette easily, adds instant pop of color to your space, is more affordable than flowers, and adds a fun vibe to your event. It’s really a perfect option for a rehearsal dinner, reception/dancing area, or even day-after wedding celebration.
