Q: What happens when an interior designer with a St. Patrick’s Day birthday meets her Irish love? A: One of the most beautiful weddings Ireland has ever seen! Madeline & Darragh’s day was everything you could imagine. Her style was impeccable: the delicate French countryside floral vibe echoed throughout the day in classic blue-white-green color palette. Timeless and elegant, it was the perfect style for the stunning Irish countryside in Connemara. Check out more as featured on Over The Moon! And scroll to the bottom for all the details! A huge shout-out to Claire at Studio Brown for yet another stunning gallery that captured the day beautifully!
The Details
Darragh is Irish and grew up visiting Ballynahinch Castle. When the time came to choose the right location for their destination wedding, the castle was an easy choice for him and Madeline. The vibe was black tie and the theme was “elegant garden” with a Gatsby-era twist. Lily-of-the-valley played a subtle consistent part throughout the day, making an appearance on Madeline’s incredible Monique Llhuillier bell-sleeved ballgown as well as her bouquet, the stationary, and even the cake! They wanted to merge Darragh’s Irish heritage with Madeline’s Texas roots, so the flowers and stationary best expressed both. They custom-created a family crest that incorporated the O’Flaherty clan’s crest for Darragh with blue belles for Madeline. Blue belles were continued throughout the flowers on the day as well as gorgeous hydrangea, garden roses, and fresh greenery and foliage.
The ceremony was a traditional Irish Catholic and featured a dried petal confetti “send-off” upon exit.
The cocktail reception took place in the garden and featured all local fare including seafood like local smoked salmon and oysters! A gin bar and margarita station was a must as well. The table setting was carefully curated to hit the era-specific notes that still felt very elegant but relaxed as well. We are in love with the cake which featured hand-painted floral details taken directly from Madeline’s dress!
Madeline & Darragh — congratulations and wishes for a long life together full of many more gorgeous memories! Thank you for letting us be a part of your day!
