We are so excited to share with you the gorgeous classically styled wedding of Alia and Brian! They were amazing to partner with and it was our pleasure to bring their vision to life. The day’s vibe was “relaxed romantic fairytale.” Taking place at one of our top favorite venues, Luttrellstown Castle, the fairytale part was easy enough. The early fall hues merged with the end of summer, creating a stunning backdrop of the castle with its grounds. We created the custom color palette called “Irish rose” — weaving in traditional blush, pink, white and green tones with pops of dusty pink and soft neutrals and bright navy and grey tones. The flowers were the star of the show — especially Alia’s gorgeous white orchid bouquet (!) — all beautifully crafted by The French Touch. A modern day castle wedding that felt classic, beautiful and elegant but still enough room to party and relax and have fun was the rule of the day! Photos by Peter Carvill.
Most of our couples go for an outdoor ceremony. With the weather potentially unpredictable this time of year, Alia and Brian wisely chose to take advantage of the gorgeous Gothic room in the castle to host their ceremony. The beautiful floral arrangements in a deconstructed arch style helped create a beautiful ambiance. The full expression of our color palette was found in the flowers throughout the day. We focused on using most of Alia’s favorites: garden roses, white orchids, eucalyptus greens and lots of green tones. Her bridesmaids carried the dusty pink tone beautifully in their flow dresses, while Brian and the gents added that pop of fresh soothing navy in their looks. Ever the handsome groom, Brian looked wonderfully sharp while Alia, admittedly stole the show in her gorgeous gown and cascading bouquet of white orchids and roses.
Appleberry Press provided all of the day-of stationary goods. We created a custom crest with Alia and Brian’s initials in gold emboss detail that we carried throughout the ceremony and reception details. The ceremony was bespoke and heartfelt — a surprise as the ring bearer rolled down the aisle in a custom built white wagon!
The reception space needed to feel elegant but inviting and not intimidating. Working with the incredible neo-Gothic architecture of the castle, our color palette really worked to create a serene and peacefully elegant presentation. Classic and elegant centerpieces with antique taper candles dotted the room with their taller elevated vase counterparts. We carried the custom crest again in the custom meus that was the perfect touch to the table setting — at once elegant and formal. The custom designed cake by Cupcakes & Counting carried our color palette and theme again down to the last detail: a gold marble tier with perfectly toned sugar flowers. One of our favorite details of the day was the custom menu: Theo (their dog) made an appearance displaying the two featured cocktails for the evening.
With the challenges of covid at the time, unfortunately everyone wasn’t able to make it. We set it up so people could attend the festivities virtually, toasting the couple from thousands of miles away in real time! Many even dressed up at home! With good food and drinks and dancing, Alia and Brian finally had their dream Irish castle wedding day.
Alia & Brian — CONGRATULATIONS and we wish you a lifetime of happiness and more Irish adventures!
